Efficient Home Design and Solutions was founded in 2018 by owner Tim Vander Meer, in order to bridge the gap between energy advisors and mechanical designers.

Having worked for, at that point, 10 years as an Registered Energy Advisor and having previous experience as both a general contractor and HVAC technician installing ductwork,Tim noticed that many firms offer either energy advice and services or mechanical designs, but despite the overlap and the impact they have on each other, very seldom are both aspects completed by the same company.

In the time since, Efficient Home Design and Solutions has completed hundreds of mechanical designs and SB-12 performance models for designers, builders, contractors and homeowners across Eastern Ontario.

During all of our projects, Efficient Home employs both the practical knowledge gained from time spent in construction, as well as the theory, principles and best practices from HRAI (Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Institute), Natural Resources Canada and many others to ensure that your home will be comfortable and efficient in the years to come.
